Vocational Certificate

What will I study?

The Level 1/2 Technical Award in Music / Music Technology is designed for learners who want an introduction to music  & technology that includes a vocational and project-based element. The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to pursue a career in the music industry or progress onto further study.

The music industry is a diverse and quickly evolving sector which is being driven not only by performance and composition skills but also the ability to understand and use music technologies which enable musicians to; record music in a studio/home studio, mix and master audio recordings using a digital audio workstation (D.A.W) , operate live sound systems, and use music technology as a creative tool for composition and performance.

In Year 10 we will look at music theory, music industry, music composition and music technology which are delivered in both written theory lessons and four practical projects.
