Pupil premium funding is allocated to schools by the government to tackle inequalities in education. The amount of funding a school receives is based on the number of students it has on roll in the following categories:
- students who are or have been in receipt of free school meals
- students who are children looked after by a local authority
- students whose parents are in the armed forces
Berwick Academy’s pupil premium strategy is monitored and reviewed throughout the school year and on an annual basis.
